Mention to anyone about surfing waves in the Amazon and they'll think you are crazed. The Amazon is located in the world's biggest tropical rainforest. It is a mighty river complete with lost tribes, huge anacondas, deadly insects and spiders, howler monkeys,jungle cats, poisonous plants, man-eating fish life, giant crocodiles, pink dolphins, vampire fish and what is reputed to be the planet's longest rideable wave which reaches heights of up to 2 metres.
This wave goes for about 15 miles all up and has been created by the very extreme tidal contrasts in the river system.
